Gratitude as Worship | Day 35 Freedom Season Devotional

 Scripture: Hebrews 12:28
Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let’s show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe.  (NASB)

The kingdom of God is unshakable. Immovable. Rock steady. It isn’t going anywhere. It has existed from eternity past and it will never cease to exist. It will also never lose power or be subject to any other kingdom or authority. This is what lives inside of us as sons and daughters of the Most High. While all that can be shaken is being shaken, His unshakable kingdom remains steadfast.

No matter what we encounter in this life, the kingdom that resides within us can and will bring the victory. How can we not be thankful for that? How can we not worship our one and only King Jesus from a heart posture of thankfulness? How can we respond to Him with anything other than wonder and worship?

Gratitude leads us into reverent worship. When we recognize the unshakable kingdom we have inherited, our only response is awe.

Reflection: What aspect of God's kingdom are you most grateful for today?

Prayer: Thank You, Father, for a kingdom that never fades. Thank You that Your kingdom lives in me - that I am a citizen of Your unshakable kingdom. Thank You for the promises in Your word that Your kingdom is everlasting. I worship You with all my heart. My heart is filled with gratitude for all You are doing in, for and through me. I bless Your name. Amen.
