the Power in Agreement | Day 24 Freedom Season Devotional

Scripture: Matthew 18:19–20
“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” (NASB)

Did you know that when two or more of God's sons and daughters gather in the name of His Son Jesus, it attracts His presence? It says so right here in Matthew 18. Unity in the body is attractive to Him!

Why? Let’s examine this for a minute. In order for two or more people to be in unity on a common purpose, that means that they have agreed that the common purpose is of more value than their own individual needs and desires. This laying down of our own agendas to pursue His heart together draws Him into our midst. 

Merging our corporate agreement with the Father’s own heart, aligning with His plans and purposes, causes heaven’s touch to be released. We are participating in “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."  It doesn’t get more powerful than that!

When it comes to the lasting impact of unity in prayer, don’t underestimate the strength of gathered believers. Whether the matter is personal or on a much larger scale like praying for our city, county, state, nation or even global issues, remember that there is power in agreement.

Reflection: What can you agree with someone in prayer about today? 

Prayer: Heavenly Father, let our unity in prayer unlock miracles and draw Your presence. Teach us to align with your kingdom plans and purposes and to pray in agreement with them, Show me how to connect with Your heart in all things. Amen.
