October: Health Literacy Month
Share
October is Health Literacy Month, and this is a great time to remember that stewarding our health starts with understanding it.
Health literacy isn't about knowing every medical term or becoming an expert in nutrition, fitness or healthcare. It's about being able to find reliable information, ask good questions, understand our options, and make informed decisions about our own well-being.
And honestly, that can be harder than it sounds.
There is a lot of health information out there. Some of it is helpful. Some of it is confusing. And some of it is simply not true. Learning how to sort through the noise and find information we can trust is an important part of caring for ourselves and our families.
That's one of the reasons I'm excited to introduce Wellness with Purpose.
This space will be about pursuing healthier living in a practical, realistic way ~ sharing healthy recipes, wellness ideas, personal experiences, things I've learned along the way, and occasionally, things I'm still figuring out.
No perfection required. Just a willingness to learn, grow and take the next step.
Here's to being informed, intentional, and well ~ because wellness has a purpose.
